Switch is looking for a Copywriter to support our team.

We are looking for a skilled Freelance Copywriter with a specialization in brand strategy to join our project workflow. As a Copywriter focused on brand strategy, you will play a key role in shaping and communicating brand identities. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of brand positioning, target audience personas, and has the ability to translate strategic insights into compelling and cohesive copy.

This is a remote freelance position, and compensation will be discussed on a project-by-project basis.

Key Messaging Needs:

1. Brand Messaging and Voice Development:

  •  Develop and articulate clear and consistent brand messaging that aligns with each projects overall brand strategy that follow the format of the Switch/Brandlord Brand Roadmap.
  • Collaborate with the design team to understand and integrate key brand attributes into all communication.
  • Create and maintain a distinct and recognizable brand voice that resonates with the target audience for each project.
  • Ensure that brand voice is consistent across various touchpoints and presentations.

2. Naming 

  • Generate innovative and impactful name options for new and existing brands.
  • Develop a deep understanding of naming trends, linguistic nuances, and cultural considerations to create names that resonate globally.
  • Ensure that the chosen names align with the client's business goals and target market.
  • Work closely with graphic designers, marketing teams, and clients to ensure seamless integration of the chosen names into overall brand identity. You will participate in brainstorming sessions and creative workshops to foster a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Comfortable with conducting comprehensive trademark and domain availability checks to ensure the viability and legal compliance of proposed names.
  • Provide recommendations and alternatives when necessary.

3. Content Strategy:

  •  Contribute to the development of content strategies that support and reinforce the brand through our distinct Brand Roadmap process for brand creation.
  • Conduct research to understand market trends, competitor strategies, and emerging opportunities.
  • Use insights from research to inform and enhance brand messaging.

4. Collaboration with Stakeholders:

  •  Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Creative Directors, Designers, and Project Managers to ensure cohesive communication.
  • Seek input and feedback from key stakeholders to refine and optimize copy.

Qualifications:

1. Proven Experience:

Demonstrable experience as a Copywriter with a focus on brand strategy, showcasing successful projects that have contributed to brand development. 

Provide a portfolio of recent and effective projects.

2. Brand Understanding:

Deep understanding of brand strategy, positioning, and the ability to translate these concepts into compelling copy.Experience working with brand guidelines and ensuring brand consistency.

3. Creative and Strategic Thinking:

  • Ability to think strategically and contribute insights that enhance overall brand positioning.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to align copy with broader brand objectives.
  • Innovative thinking and the ability to bring fresh, creative ideas to the table.
  • Experience in developing creative concepts for branding.

4. Communication and Time Management Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, you have the ability to communicate through Slack channels on a daily basis to respond in a timely manner.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex brand concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Ability to scope a project and provide a project timeline and then execute work on time.
